What is the HES Code? How To Get It?

Dear passengers,

Our main priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees. With that, we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and make your travels as comfortable as possible.

In accordance with the HES (Hayat Eve Sığar – Life Fits Home) regulation from the Turkish Ministry of Health, passengers will now be asked for a personal HES code during the booking process.

As per the regulation providing the HES code is mandatory for all passengers, and passengers will only be admitted to the bus after a successful COVID-19 risk inquiry with the Ministry of Health.

1 How do I obtain the HES code?

You can get the HES code in 2 ways:

Through Mobile Application

You can download the "Hayat Eve Sığar" application for your smartphone, free of charge, from the App Store or Google Play store.
After entering your personal information in the application, you can obtain it from the 'HES Code transactions' field.

Through SMS

How to send an SMS?

To receive an HES code by SMS please send a text to 2023 with HES followed by your TC identity number, the last 4 digits of the TC identity serial number and the sharing period (in number of days). An example text would be “HES 12345678901 4567 10". You will then receive a response with your HES code.

2 How do I use the HES code?

To complete your purchase using your new HES code please enter it into the field “HES Code” on the checkout screen. This field is located alongside where you enter your name and identity number. This field is required and will be used for automated verification.

3 Is it safe to share the HES code?

HES codes are unique codes produced specifically for you.

You have complete control over the management and sharing of the HES code. The HES code is not a static code for life, such as the TC ID number, rather you can generate and delete codes as you need for your travel.

You can set time limits on your HES codes, so you can control the shares even if you forget them.

In addition, via HES code, you will not have to share personal data such as identification number with anyone else.

Things to pay attention to when obtaining the HES code during the ticketing process:

If you don’t already have an HES code when starting your ticket purchase you must generate one within 10 minutes before the reservation time expires. The seats you wish to buy are blocked on your behalf for 10 minutes after you add them to your cart. During this time the purchase must be completed or the seats will no longer be blocked and you must restart the process.

If you must restart the process you will not need another HES code, but can use the previously unused generated code.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HES code is a new requirement from the Ministry of Health in an effort to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The code is used to help prevent risky passengers from traveling within Turkey.

Per the scope of the COVID-19 epidemic measures, passengers may not travel without providing a valid HES code upon purchase.

You can receive an HES code either through the “Hayat Eve Sığar" mobile application or by sending a text to 2023. Please read section 1 for more details.

  • The HES code has a validity period - while generating the HES Code, it should be at least the same duration of your trip. The HES code must be generated by taking into account the number of days between the departure and return date when purchasing round trip tickets.
  • HES codes are personal. Separate codes must be obtained for each passenger.
  • HES code is not required for passengers between 0-2 years old.
  • If the risk check of your HES code does not raise any concerns, then your ticket purchase will be completed and you will be able to enter the bus.
