FlixBus transfers from Paris Beauvais Airport to Paris
Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport (BVA) is the entry point for millions of budget travelers flying Ryanair, Wizz Air, and Volotea into the Paris region. With flights arriving from across Europe and North Africa, this is one of the busiest low-cost hubs in France, but the airport itself is 85 km north of the city.
Anyone who's just landed here and needs to get to central Paris quickly works out that a dedicated airport transfer is the only sensible option. Trains from Beauvais city require a connecting taxi or bus to the SNCF station first, adding both time and cost. The direct bus to Paris cuts that out.
Book your bus ticket from Paris Beauvais Airport to Paris in advance for the lowest fares on this route. Prices increase with demand, but even a last-minute ticket remains an affordable option.
Finding your FlixBus stop at Paris Beauvais Airport
The FlixBus stop is at the bus station between Terminals 1 and 2, accessible on foot from both arrival halls. Follow the ground floor exits from arrivals toward the central bus station area.
Once you're outside and at the bus station, check your ticket for the platform number. Multiple operators depart from here, so confirm it's the FlixBus service before boarding.
Bus journey to Paris
The ride to Paris takes around 1 hour 20 minutes with no intermediate stops, arriving at the Pershing bus station at Porte Maillot (22 Boulevard Pershing, 75017 Paris).
This puts you right beside the Porte Maillot metro and RER station: take metro line 1 east toward central Paris, or RER C for connections including the Eiffel Tower (Champ de Mars stop).
Post-landing buffer
Give yourself at least 45 minutes after scheduled landing before your bus departs. That allows time to get through passport control if you've come from outside the Schengen zone, collect checked bags, and walk to the bus station.
Getting around Paris
The FlixBus drops you at Porte Maillot, in the 17th arrondissement, about 3 km from the Arc de Triomphe.
- Metro: Line 1 is the fastest route into the center from Porte Maillot. Five stops east gets you to the Champs-Elysées, and a few more to the Louvre or the Marais. Line 2 is also accessible at Porte Maillot for connections north toward Montmartre (Pigalle or Anvers stops).
- RER: RER C departs from Porte Maillot heading south toward the Eiffel Tower (Champ de Mars stop), Musée d'Orsay, and Versailles. Useful if your accommodation is on the Left Bank.
- Bus: Several surface bus routes connect from Porte Maillot across the city. Slower than metro but useful if you want a street-level view or are heading somewhere between metro stops.
A standard single metro ticket covers any single journey within zones 1-5. If you're planning to take multiple trips across the city, a carnet of 10 tickets or a day pass (Paris Visite) works out better value. Both are available at any metro station vending machine.
Things to do in Paris
Eiffel Tower
Timed entry tickets sell out weeks in advance, especially from June through September. Book online before you arrive. The tower itself is free to walk beneath; you pay only to go up. The Bir-Hakeim metro stop (line 6) is an 11-minute walk from the base.
The Louvre
The world's most visited museum has a collection big enough to take days to see properly. First-time visitors usually make straight for the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, but the Egyptian antiquities and Flemish painting galleries are much less crowded and arguably more rewarding. Closed on Tuesdays.
Notre-Dame Cathedral
Fully reopened in late 2024 after years of post-fire restoration. Entry is free but timed reservations are recommended during busy periods.
Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur
The hilltop neighborhood in the 18th arrondissement has a different feel from the rest of central Paris: narrower streets, local cafés, and the white-domed basilica at the top. Arrive early morning to beat the crowds on the steps.
Musée d'Orsay
Housed in a converted Belle Époque train station on the Left Bank, the Orsay holds the world's largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh. Closed on Mondays.
Le Marais
The 3rd and 4th arrondissements have some of the best-preserved medieval street fabric in Paris, plus the Place des Vosges, several good museums, and the best falafel in France on Rue des Rosiers.
Canal Saint-Martin
A stretch of tree-lined canal in the 10th arrondissement where Parisians actually hang out. Good for a walk or a sit-down at one of the surrounding coffee shops.
Sainte-Chapelle
A Gothic chapel on the Île de la Cité with floor-to-ceiling stained glass from the 13th century. Gets far fewer visitors than Notre-Dame but is architecturally its equal. Buy tickets in advance.
Père Lachaise Cemetery
The largest cemetery in Paris is also one of its most atmospheric places to walk: 44 hectares of cobbled lanes, elaborate tombs, and the graves of Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, and Marcel Proust, among many others.
