Río Guadalquivir & Triana Neighborhood gives you a different angle on Sevilla. Metropol Parasol (Las Setas de Sevilla) is the city's most surprising piece of modern architecture. Six undulating wooden canopies span 150 metres across Plaza de la Encarnación, claimed to be the largest wooden structure in the world. Love it or question it, it's impossible to ignore. Underneath, an archaeological museum displays Roman ruins discovered during construction, and a rooftop walkway winds across the top of the structure for sweeping views over the old city.

Museo del Baile Flamenco is a small but thoughtfully designed museum in the Santa Cruz quarter dedicated entirely to flamenco as an art form. Exhibits cover the history, regional styles, and key figures of the tradition through video, costume, and interactive displays. The museum also hosts live evening performances in its courtyard, an intimate setting that makes for a far more genuine introduction to flamenco than a dinner-show tourist package.
