Siruvani Waterfalls & Reservoir lies about 37 km from Coimbatore, tucked into the forest near the Kerala border. The water here has a reputation for unusual sweetness, and the forested trail leading to the falls passes through dense Ghats vegetation. Adiyogi Shiva Statue & Isha Yoga Center is a striking landmark about 30 km south of the city at the base of the Velliangiri Hills. The enormous steel face of Adiyogi, the mythological first yogi, dominates the landscape in a way that photographs do not fully prepare you for. The Isha Yoga Center around it is a functioning spiritual campus, and visitors are welcome to walk the grounds, attend programs, and visit the Dhyanalinga meditation shrine nearby.

VOC Park & Zoo in the centre of Coimbatore is a well-maintained green space that combines a public park with a zoo housing big cats, deer, and a reptile section. It is a practical and enjoyable option if you are travelling with children or simply want a few hours of shade and open space in the middle of a sightseeing day.

Black Thunder Theme Park in Mettupalayam, roughly an hour's drive from the city, is one of South India's larger water and amusement parks. The wave pools and high-speed water slides are the main draw, and the park is large enough that it genuinely takes a full day to work through everything on offer.
