Museo del Acero Horno 3 takes the industrial legacy of Parque Fundidora and turns it into something genuinely engaging. Built around the preserved No. 3 blast furnace, once capable of producing a million tons of steel per year, the museum was designed by the British firm Grimshaw and features around 140 interactive exhibits on steelmaking, science, and technology. Climbing up through the structure of the furnace itself is an experience that's hard to replicate anywhere else.

Palacio del Obispado (Museo Regional de Nuevo León) is an 18th-century hilltop palace that has served as a bishop's residence, a military fortress, and a customs house over the course of its long history. Today it houses the regional history museum, with collections covering pre-Hispanic cultures, the colonial period, and the Mexican Revolution. The hilltop location also gives you one of the best panoramic views of the city, particularly at dusk.

Barrio Antiguo is Monterrey's oldest neighborhood, a compact grid of colonial-era buildings southeast of the Macroplaza that has evolved into the city's cultural and nightlife hub. During the day you'll find independent galleries, cafés, and street art; after dark the area fills with music spilling out of bars and restaurants.
