Altes Schloss (Old Castle) & Württemberg State Museum sits at the heart of the old city and traces the region's history from the Stone Age to the present day. Stuttgart TV Tower (Fernsehturm Stuttgart) was one of the world's first reinforced-concrete television towers and remains a Stuttgart landmark. Step inside for the quiet interior, the carved stone apostle figures along the nave walls, and a moment away from the city's pace.

Wilhelma Zoological-Botanical Garden is the only combined zoo and botanical garden in Germany, set within a 19th-century Moorish-style royal estate in Bad Cannstatt. Around 11,000 animals and 8,000 plant species share the grounds, and the historic glasshouses, originally built for King Wilhelm I, give the whole place an atmosphere unlike any standard city zoo.
