Bremen is not only known for being a ‘Premiere League’ city; the Hanseatic city is also an absolute goldmine for exploring a rich culture, shopping, sightseeing and much more. In addition to visiting the Bremen statue of Roland and the Town Musicians of Bremen, a visit to the old town is a must see for our Bremen bus passengers. The “Schlachte” is a promenade along the beautiful Weser which is popular for its delicious restaurants, numerous bars, and harbor setting. Whether it’s a visit to one of the countless buildings, the striking scope of the city or the Schnoor (the medieval center of Bremen) – all of these will make your bus trip to Bremen an unforgettable experience. And the best part of all, after spending as long as you wish in Bremen, your FlixBus will take you from A to B no problem at all.
The famous Bremen Roland and the town hall are established UNESCO world heritage sites, not forgetting “The Town Musicians of Bremen” standing as the city’s famous landmark. Other highlights of taking your bus to Bremen is having a relaxing stroll down Böttcherstraβe, a street which could be described as an architectural heaven, or taking a walk through the Schnoor, Bremen’s medieval center. In this Hanseatic city you will find a variety of churches from several different denominations; Bremen’s Cathedral from the gothic period is probably the most well known, but St. John’s Church and the Church of Our Lady are also known for their beauty and age throughout the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. These buildings are always a big hit with our bus passengers. Additionally you will find numerous free churches, which were built as far back as the 19th Century. As well as a vast spread of churches there are also monuments and fountains that have been standing for hundreds of years and provide a view of traditional architecture outside of the 21st Century. There are over 50 museums and exhibition centers in and around Bremen. For one evening every year you can experience a night of history with the ‘Bremen Long Night of Museums,’ where all museums and exhibition centers are open for you to explore for the whole evening. No matter what kind of museum you want to visit you will be able to find it in Bremen, whether it’s the Übersee museum, the Kunsthalle, the Focke Museum or the Port museum. You will never miss a cultural opportunity with FlixBus because we will take you from A to B and back again, easy! In Bremen, a culture filled Hanseatic city, you will find yearly multifarious events suitable any age group. The small “Freimarkt” opposite the town hall and the “Freimarkt” on Bürgerweide are classed as two of the oldest folk festivals in Germany. Not forgetting the summer festival “Bremen swingt,” the “Hafenfest Vegesack” and of course the Christmas markets, there are many different well known events. A bus trip to Bremen in January makes the “Six days Bremen,” Bremen’s annual bike race, a must see, but later in the year the Bremen carnival and the international literature festival are becoming increasingly popular with our bus passengers.
Bremen’s old, beautiful port lies at the core of the city’s vibrancy. On the historic waterfront, there are many dining opportunities. The Schnoor is in the old town of the city and is a medieval quarter which dates back to times when old ship craft was still practiced. Generally there are many archaic buildings in Bremen that have history dating back centuries ago – another worthwhile sightseeing opportunity for our bus passengers. The Bremen town hall that was built in 1612, the scale of the city in 1587, the Essighaus in 1618 and the trade chamber (“Gewerbehaus”) in 1620 are just a few examples.
Bremen also offers a lot of interesting opportunities with its nightlife. Friday and Saturday evening’s are particularly busy bustling with tourists and locals alike. There is every type of bar and club you can imagine – from rock, to pop clubs to lounge and cocktail bars to traditional Irish pubs. So in Bremen the main sources of nightlife can be found in the old town, the Weser, the suburban area of the train station, which is famous for its “disco mile,” and the so-called “quarter.” One of our bus trips to Bremen will also provide something for every passengers music taste.
