Sultan Orhan Mosque is one of the oldest Ottoman mosques in the Marmara region, dating to the 14th century and named after Sultan Orhan, the second ruler of the Ottoman state. Osman Hamdi Bey Museum celebrates the painter, archaeologist, and museum reformer who was born in Istanbul but had deep ties to this region. Osman Hamdi Bey is best known internationally for his painting The Tortoise Trainer, and the museum holds works and personal artefacts that illuminate both his art and his central role in founding the Istanbul Archaeological Museums. It is a compact but genuinely absorbing collection.

Natural spaces

Ballıkayalar Nature Park is a canyon landscape of limestone cliffs, dense forest, and a stream that threads through the valley floor.
