Religious sites

Name of Mary Catholic Church dominates Trg Slobode with its twin neo-Gothic spires, which climb high enough to be visible from well outside the city centre. Completed in 1895, the church is the largest Catholic place of worship in Vojvodina and its interior features stained glass and carved stonework that repay a proper look rather than a quick glance from the doorway.

Novi Sad Synagogue is one of the most architecturally striking buildings in the city, a blend of Moorish Revival and Art Nouveau styles that makes it stand out even on a street full of interesting facades. Built in 1909, it once served a large Jewish community and today functions partly as a concert venue.
